What UTI organisms and antibiotics are tested?

Our molecular UTI panel tests for 31 clinically relevant causative pathogens, 34 antimicrobial resistance genes, and multiple different antibiotics for phenotypic susceptibility (variable, based on organism(s) detected and pathogen load meeting reflex criteria),

  • Macrolide-Lincosamide-Streptogramin B (MLSB): Erm A/Erm B, Erm C
  • Methicillin: mecA  
  • Quinolone and Fluoroquinolone: QnrA/QnrB/QnrS  
  • Sulfonamide:  Sul2  
  • Tetracycline: tet(M)  
  • Trimethoprim: dfrA5/A1

How do I send specimens to the lab?

Samples collected in your office are packaged and shipped via overnight delivery to Mokan Labs, LLC.. The collection kit and shipping supplies will be provided by Mokan, after we have completed our client onboarding and training process.
